1. Anti-Harassment Policy

We are a community of respect, kindness, and inclusivity. Harassment of any kind—verbal, physical, or otherwise—is not tolerated.

Our events are created to celebrate the love of water through friendship and community, and we are dedicated to ensuring a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Afro Mermaid upholds a zero-tolerance policy against harassment of any kind—physical, verbal, or otherwise—toward attendees, participants, patrons, or bystanders at our events.

We strive to provide a harassment-free experience for all individuals, regardless of:

• Gender, gender identity, or expression

• Age

• Sexual orientation

• Disability

• Physical appearance or body size

• Race or ethnicity

• Religion (or lack thereof)

• Personal preferences, including tail and accessory brands

What We Mean by Harassment:
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

• Offensive comments related to any of the above categories

• Unwelcome physical contact or advances

• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following

• Threatening, abusive, or inappropriate behavior

• Inappropriate photography, recording, or attention without consent

• Disruption of events, panels, or activities

What Happens if Harassment Occurs:
Any individual found engaging in harassment will be subject to immediate action, which may include:

• A verbal warning

• Removal from the event grounds without refund

• Escalation to law enforcement if necessary

How to Report Harassment:
If you experience or witness harassment, please approach any event staff member or security personnel immediately. Our team is here to listen, provide support, and take the appropriate action to resolve the situation.

2. Policy on Rule Violations and Event Safety

Violating any rules outlined in our Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from the event without prior warning. We reserve the right to involve local law enforcement if the situation warrants, and this decision will be made at the discretion of event organizers.

Attendees removed from the event due to rule violations will not be eligible for a ticket refund. This includes, but is not limited to, behavior that is unsafe, harmful, or disruptive to others. Individuals whose actions conflict with the values and morals outlined in this Code of Conduct will also be subject to removal.

We reserve the right to deny tickets or entry to any person who does not abide by our Mermaid Code of Conduct or fails to align with the ethical principles upheld by Afro Mermaid and its team. This policy applies to both in-person and online events.

We maintain the right to restrict or revoke access to anyone joining our events (online or in person) at any time and without prior warning, if their behavior compromises the safety, comfort, or integrity of the event.

Warning: Ignoring the rules may lead to a one-way swim out of our seashell gates.

3. Liability Waiver

By purchasing a ticket, you agree that Afro Mermaid, its personnel, and affiliates are not responsible for any damage, theft, injury, or loss during the event.

5. Supervision of Minors

Children are welcome in our world, but all minors must be directly supervised by their guardians at all times.

6. Photography and Media

By attending our events, you agree to be photographed or filmed by official photographers, press, or other attendees. Your magical moments may appear on social media, advertising, or news platforms. With that being said, choose your looks wisely. If you have a special case, and need to keep your identity offline, please contact event staff prior to your attendance of the events.

7. No Refund Policy

Once you’ve purchased a ticket, the magic is non-refundable (unless event is cancelled by the host). After your ticket is paid for, it gives the host a number to work with when making arrangements for food, beverages, seating and more. If you cannot make the event, tickets can be transferred to the following year. It is critical for all guest to plan accordingly for this event. We work hard to create unforgettable experiences, we appreciate your understanding.
